The Hammer Source has been in business in one form or another since the 1930's. Here is the legend as I know it (The Hammer Man):

Our first hammers were Malleable Iron Hammers with wood handles designed in the 1930's by the Cadillac V-8 Engine plant in Cadillac, MI. Eventually the hammers were out-sourced and an independent business started.

My then father-in-law bought what was known as Wolverine Company around 1979 and sold Malleable Iron hammers to Michigan auto manufacturers and suppliers. He had 5 sizes of Malleable Iron hammers from 1 to 5 pounds. They were made with wooden handles and he added Nupla Fiberglass handles.

He also added Brass Hammers- 1/2 lb to 3 1/2 lb. He was selling a total of about 17 different hammers altogether.

In 1999 he sold the business to me, Andy, The Hammer Man.

The Hammer Source was incorporated in 1999 in Ilinois and is now located in Naperville, IL.

Thanks to Andy's former wife's web design and internet savvy, The Hammer Source started selling hammers on line. Andy and she expanded the number of Hammer Source hammers available to about 1500 different hammers and have shipped hammers to more than 30 countries around the world.

Today, Andy (The Hammer Man) is the sole owner.

We do however answer the phone, respond to e-mails, and know our products. At The Hammer Source you will not be talking to someone in an overseas call center.
